Teams from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday visited the homes of two Jakarta gubernatorial candidates — incumbent Fauzi Bowo and Hidayat Nur Wahid — as part of their wealth report verification.
At 9:00 a.m., one team left for the home of Hidayat, the candidate backed by the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in South Jakarta. While another went to Fauzi’s residence in Central Jakarta.
Fauzi reported a total wealth of Rp 46.93 billion ($4.9 million) in 2010 while Hidayat, in 2009, reported wealth totaling Rp 6.323 billion.
The KPK began visiting the homes of candidates last week. They visited the homes of Joko Widodo in Solo, Hendardji Soepandji in South Jakarta and Nono Sampono in Jagakarsa on June 5.
Biem Benyamin’s home in Jagakarsa was visited on June 6 and on June 7 visits were made to the homes of Alex Noerdin in Palembang, Faisal Basri in South Jakarta and Nachrowi Ramli in East Jakarta.
On Friday the KPK teams visited the homes of deputy governor candidates including Ahmad Riza Patria in South Jakarta and Didik Junaedi Rachbini in Depok, West Java. A visit to deputy gubernatorial candidate Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama in North Jakarta is scheduled for Wednesday.
So far the KPK investigation has verified the wealth of the candidates. Candidates have reported higher wealth than in past years.
