A sex video allegedly starring two Indonesian Democratic Party in Struggle politicians is now the focus of a police investigation, a National Police official said on Wednesday.
The sex tape, which allegedly featured PDI-P lawmaker Aria Bima and an unidentified — but politically connected — woman was posted on the Indonesian Web site kilikitik.net earlier this week.
Investigators are now trying to get to the bottom of the allegations and determine the identities of the copulating couple, police said.
“This is a cyber crime,” National Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar said. “We will investigate and coordinate with the experts related to it.”
The Web site hosting the video was blocked — presumably by the Indonesian government — on Tuesday. But that didn’t stop eight screen shots from circulating online. According to media reports, the video allegedly pictured Aria and K.M.N. — the unidentified daughter of a PDI-P governor in Kalimantan — having sex.
Both are married, but not to each other.
Senior PDI-P party member Pramono Anung denied the claims, explaining that Aria is skinnier than the man in the photos.
Aria also denied the allegations, stating that he was going to report the incident to the police.
Sex scandals are nothing new in Indonesia.
Nazril “Ariel” Irham, the lead singer of the band Peterpan —was jailed for three years and six months after sex videos starring two Indonesian starlets hit the internet.
